March has been a difficult month for us here in New Zealand. We've been shocked and deeply saddened by the terror attack in Christchurch. We've also seen a truly remarkable amount of compassion. Our young people have shown the world that we are a united, peace-loving and empathetic people. School students have come together all over the country, holding vigils, silently reflecting together and 'marching for love'. Selena Wang, an intermediate student from Auckland, wrote this moving poem. It expresses shock but also her empathy and compassion. Thank you Selena for your words.
This October we're featuring work by the extension writing group from Newmarket School. They're definitely a talented bunch to watch!
